A Quick Guide to the Glastonbury Ethics Commission

The Glastonbury Ethics Commission serves municipal
officials, consultants, employees, and residents of Glastonbury
by interpreting and implementing the Glastonbury Code of Ethics.

If you question whether the behavior of a town official, consultant, or employee violates the Glastonbury Code of Ethics, you may submit an Inquiry to the Commission.

If you are a town official, consultant, or employee and wish to know if something you are doing violates the Glastonbury Code of Ethics, you may ask the Commission for an Advisory Opinion .  Town employees should pursue their prescribed administrative procedures for obtaining such advice before approaching the Commission.  See sections 2-65 c. and d. of the Code.

Copies of the Glastonbury Code of Ethics, the Commission’s Procedures and forms for requesting Inquiries or Advisory Opinions are available in the office of the Glastonbury Town Clerk.

Before submitting a request for an Advisory Opinion or making an Inquiry, read the Glastonbury Code of Ethics to make sure that your concern is covered by the Code of Ethics and is an issue that is within the Commission’s scope.

If you have a question you may write the Chair or Vice Chair of the Glastonbury Ethics Commission c/o Town Clerk’s Office, 2155 Main Street, Glastonbury, CT  06033.
