Description
The Accounting Division is responsible for providing complete and accurate financial information on a timely basis.
The Assessor's office compiles the annual grand list of taxable and exempt property
The responsibilities of the Building Inspection Department are to enforce building , electric, plumbing and heating codes.
The office of Civil Preparedness is responsible for coordinating all activities in times of man-made or natural disasters.
Community Development manages all land use and building activities.
The Engineering Division is responsible for the review of proposed developments and engineering design of town projects.
Facilities Services is responsible for the management, maintenance and construction of all municipal buildings.
Coordination of the financial management system, purchasing activities, assessment and tax collection, and voter registration.
The Glastonbury Fire Department through its four fire companies and 135 dedicated members provide Fire Suppression, Emergency Rescue services and Fire Prevention.
The Fire Marshal's Office investigates the cause and origin of fires and explosions; conducts plan review of new buildings and development and inspects public facilities for compliance with appropriate codes, including the Connecticut Fire Safety Code; regulates and enforces transportation, storage and use of hazardous materials; conducts public education and fire prevention activities; and serves as the Open Burning Official.
The Health Department is responsible for preserving and protecting the public's health.
The Highway Division is responsible for maintenance, repair and construction of the Town's infrastructure system
The Human Resources Division is responsible for administration of all Human Resource related services and programs for the Town of Glastonbury's full and part time employees.
The primary mission of the Human Services Department is to promote independence, personal enrichment and an enhanced quality of life for Glastonbury residents of all ages through a variety of programs and services. The department is organized into three divisions including Youth & Family Services, Social Services and Senior Services.
The Information Technology Department provides computer system and network services to all the Town Divisions. The office provides project management and implementation services to the Town Divisions.

The Physical Services Department consists of three (3) divisions; Highway, Vehicle Maintenance, and Engineering.

To provide protection of life and property; preserve the peace; prevent crime; recover lost property; repress crime; regulate non-criminal conduct; apprehend offenders; and, perform miscellaneous service.
Purchasing activities include bidding of contracts and commodities administered by the purchasing agent.
The Refuse Disposal Division operates the Transfer Station, Bulky Waste Facility, Recycling Facilities and Household Hazardous Waste Facility
Conducts regular duties of the Office as prescribed by State Statutes.
Responsible for the billing and collection of all property taxes, and sewer use and assessment connection charges.
Provides continuous, efficient collection and treatment of wastewater, generated within the Town Sanitary Sewer system
This town-funded, municipal department operates and administers programs and services for Glastonbury citizens age 60 years and older.
The Social Services Department strives to promote the well-being, self sufficiency and quality of life among Glastonbury residents
The Town Clerk’s Office is responsible for all land record recordings, birth, marriage and death records, map, liquor permit and veteran discharge filings, administers elections in conjunction with the Registrars of Voters, issues dog, marriage and sporting licenses, registers trade names, notaries and aircraft, repository for meeting agendas and minutes and official keeper of the Town Seal."
Office of the Chief Executive of Town administration, responsible for general management of the Town's affairs.
The Vehicle Maintenance Division's responsibilities include the repair and maintenance of all Town vehicles.
GYFS provides clinical counseling to Glastonbury youth and their families, outreach services, and positive youth development programs. The staff provides support groups to youth and families throughout the year. The staff is available for public speaking on a variety of topics.
